SWEETEST MOMENT

The other night, I decided to read a story to the boys out of their children's Bible I bought them for Christmas.  Timothy came out of his food hatch door to get a closer look at the pictures.  Gabriel pressed himself against the bars of the cage, so as not to miss a single moment of storytime.  After reading, I said a short prayer for them...not a feather rustled, and upon saying, "amen" at the end of the prayer, Timmy turned around and went back in his cage and onto his "night night' perch.  Sweet moments like this can not be planned...they just happen...like the breath of a whisper.

  1. You have to love it when the 'kids' go to bed without a fuss...Amen to that!

  3. Hi Michelle, is Timmy a rescue? You wrote somewhere that you've been working with him on the shyness and feather picking. Each small step is such a victory, isn't it? My all-time favorite was my ornery, moody Timneh. Even after ten years, I miss her.

  4. Sherry,

Timmy was given to me by his owner that was going through a messy divorce. According to her, Timmy has plucked his whole life. I guess you could say I "rescued" him from the chaotic divorce ridden household he came from, but I think "adopted" is a more accurate description. Timothy came to me with a total distrust in people, so each step forward with him is a blessing. I am so thankful he came into my life.
