After a few days of avoiding it at all cost, Zeek is now enjoying his new plank perch. In fact, it is now his favorite spot to sit and watch the world outside the window. Birds need places to perch that have different widths so their little feet won't get tired clinging to the same size dowel all the time. All my boys have platforms of varied sorts to give them a solid place to hang out. I also add grapevine perches, rope perches, ladders, and sun decks. They love the variety.
Oh yes, and I almost forgot to mention how much Zeek loves his cozy hanging right next to the platform perch. It makes snuggling so much nicer. My boys go through cozies like nobodies business. Timmy chews his, Gabe perches on his, and Zeek snuggles. Each boy has his own way of chilling out. I should be so relaxed.
